Read this before you buy — it decides whether the mount works for you. This is a magnetic mount, so your phone must be able to stick to a magnet. Recent iPhones with built-in magnets attach directly. Android phones, and iPhones in a non-magnetic case, need a magnetic case or a stick-on metal ring or plate, which is not included unless the listing images show one. Check the images before ordering. The vacuum base needs a smooth, clean, non-porous surface — glass, mirror and glazed tile all work; textured dashboards, matte or grouted tile, fabric, wood and painted walls do not.

• Read the included user manual before first use, and follow its instructions for engaging and releasing the vacuum lock.
• Test the mount with your phone at low height first, over a soft surface, before trusting it above a hard floor, a sink or a bath.
• Press the base onto a clean, dry, smooth surface and check the vacuum lock is fully engaged every single time. Suction weakens as surfaces get dusty, soapy, oily or steamy — reseat it regularly.
• Do not mount it above the bath, a basin or a hard tiled floor if a fall would break the phone. Nothing about a suction mount is permanent.
• In a car, position it so it never blocks your view of the road, and never adjust the phone or the mount while driving. Fit it below the driver's line of sight, and check your local rules on windscreen mounts.
• Keep the magnet away from credit and debit cards, hotel keycards, mechanical watches, pacemakers and hearing aids.
